My daughter is 22 months old and she weighs 38 pounds and 37 inches long and the doctors said that she is over weight and needs to loose like 10 pounds to be in the correct weight for her height. I was woundering if anyone new of a diet for a toddler and any idea what a portion size is for a toddler so i can try to get her weight down before she has an obesity problem her whole life. She only drinks 16 ounches of light soy milk a day and like 4 ounces of juice a day other than that she drinks water.

I do know that pediatricians recommend starting solids at four months. Mine recommended it. But doctors aren’t always right. It’s been the AAP’s recommendation for over 3 years now that babies receive NO solids before six months of age. Breastmilk or formula should be babies’ main source of nutrition for the entire first year! Not the first few months…

So, I’d honestly like to hear- why do parents still insist upon starting solids sooner?
